Chai-anan สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf Abstract From the study of the levels of Vitamin A, Beta-carotene, Vitamin E, Vitamins B1and B2 in 197 serum samples of fertile and infertile dairy cows collected from 6 dairy cow raising centers, it is found that there was no significant difference in the levels of Vitamins A, E, and B2 in the serum under study and there should not be any problem about the levels of these vitamins. As for the Vitamins B1 level calculated from the percentage of Thiamine Pyrophosphate Enzyme (TPPE) in problematical groups of dairy cows, it is found deficient in comparison to the normal level reported in humans since there has not been any report of a study of % TPPE in dairy cows. The level of Beta-carotene obtained from this study is questionable. Besides, the level of Beta-carotene differs distinctly in each serum sample including the samples taken from normal dairy cows raised in various regions. The conclusion is that there should be more detailed study on the problems of Vitamin B1 and Beta-carotene in dairy cows. |

The blood samples were collected during August, 1982, to February, 1983, and divided into 5 groups according to age. In each age group of serum samples were also divided according to the duration of gestation. The results the study are that the average levels of copper and iron in the serum samples are between 0.72-1.0 ppm and 3.25-5.05 ppm, respectively. There is no significant statistical differences in the average levels of minerals being studied in dairy cows in the early and late periods of gestation in each age group. Besides, there is no difference in the level of minerals being studied between the normal and the infertile group of cows. |

The drug was administered as 20% solution at the dosage of 200 mg/kg. body weight. Blood samples were collected at specific times via the caudal blood vessels and determined by the Direct and Total method of Bratton and Marshall. Following intravenous administration, the drug was excreted within 108 hours. The maximum plasma concentration reached 32.72 mg % and 28.4 mg % following the intravenous and intramuscular dosing and maintained above 5 mg % for 24 hours. The drug was incompletely absorbed after oral administration. Approximately 70.57% and 16.63% of the given dose were absorbed following intramuscular and oral administration, respectively. The biphasic shape of the plasma disappearance curve suggested that a two compartment model would be used to describe the behavior of the drug in catfish. |

The blood samples were collected from August, 2525, to February, 2526, and divided into 5 groups according to age. In each age group the samples were divided according to the duration of gestation. The result of the study is that the amount of calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium in the serum is considered normal with the calcium : phosphorus ratio between 1.64 : 1 to 1.80 : 1. A comparative analysis of the average amount of the minerals being studied in dairy cows in the early and late periods of gestation shows that there is no significant statistical difference in dairy cows in each age group. Besides, there is no difference in the amount of minerals being studied between the normal dairy cows group and the infertile group. |

The plasma concentrations of the drug and acetyl metabolite were analysed. Following intravenous administration of sulfathiazole, minimum effective concentrations of the drug were maintained for at least 24 hours. The drug was completely excreted within 96 hours. The drug was completely absorbed following ir~tramusculara dministration but incompletely absorbed following oral dosing. The bioavailability following intramuscular and oral administration were 1C)O% and 17.4%, respectively. The biphasic shape of the plasma disappearance curve suggested that a two compartment model would be used to describe the pharmacokinetic behavior of the drug in catfish. |

Each animal was administered intravenously (i.v.), intramuscularly (i.m.), subcutaneously (s.c.) and orally (p.o.) at a single dose level of 20 mg/kg body weight. The amoxycillin in plasma was detected up to 5 hours (h) after i.v. and i.m. administration but it was found up to 10 h and 6 h after s.c. and p.o. administration, respectively. However, the drug could be absorbed at the peak plasma level within 30 min after i.m and s.c. administration while it was detected at 60 min after p.o. administration. The pharmacokinetic parameters after i.v. administration were as follows; the elimination half-life (t1/2?) = 42.0 ? 3.5 min, the elimination rate constant (Kel) = 2.87 ? 0.31 h-1, the apparent volume of distribution (Vd(area)) = 0.75 ? 0.21 l/Kg, the total body clearance (ClB) = 1.59 ? 0.52 l/Kg/h and bioavailability following i.m., s.c. and p.o. administration were 93.33 ? 5.23 %, 91.11 ? 7.41 % and 34.67 ? 5.06 %, respectively. Finally these available data could be used for establishing the dosage regimen as well as to allow the preslaughter withdrawal times and maximum residue limits for ducks. |

(leaves), Rhinacanthus nasutus Linn. (leaves), Kaempferia galanga Linn. (leaves and roots) were studied for fungistatic and fungicidal activity against water mold Saprolignea parasitica H2. Minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of crude extracts of betel vine leaves and K. galanga Linn. roots against S. parasitica H2 were 500 and 125 ?g/ml, respectively. The crude of R. nasutus Linn. leaves at 500 ?g/ml could inhibit fungal growth for 46%. The crude extracts of galanga rhizome and K. galanga leaves at 500 ?g/ ml had minimal fungistatic activity against S. parasitica H2. The fungicidal concentrations of crude extracts of betel vine leaves, R. nasutus Linn. leaves and K. galanga Linn. leaves against S. parasitica H2 were 500 ?g/ml after 24 hr-immersion, 5,000 ?g/ml after 24 hr-immersion and 50 ?g/ml after 120 min-immersion, respectively. Crude extracts of galanga rhizome and K. galanga Linn. leaves at 5,000 ?g/ml had no fungicidal effects in this study. In addition, the fungicidal activity varied between concentration of plant extract and exposure time. This study presented that the crude extracts from betel vine leaves and K. galanga Linn. roots had high antifungal activity against S. parasitica H2, while R. nasutus Linn. leaves had moderate activity. |

A two-compartment pharmacokinetic model was developed to describe the fate and disposition of this drug. Mean peak plasma concentrations of APC was 10.52 ? 2.06, 12.21 ? 0.66, 5.62 ? 0.95 and 1.61 ? 0.20 microgram/ml after i.v., i.m., s.c. and p.o. administration respectively. Ampicillin was shown to have an elimination half-life (t1/2b) of 97 ? 9.55 min, while the elimination rate constant (Kel ), the apparent volume of distribution (Vd(area)), and the total body clearance (ClB) were 2.09 ? 0.07 h-1, 1.79 ? 0.41 L/Kg and 1.21 ? 0.19 L/Kg/h respectively. In addition, the bioavailability following different routes were 91.11 ? 7.2 % for i.m., 62.22 ? 8.03 % for s.c. and 17.78 ? 2.08 % for p.o. administration. The results suggested that when treating ducks, the pharmacokinetic behaviors of amipicillin should be considered in order to optimize the therapeutic dose, and to allow the preslaughter withdrawal time and maximum residue limits of ampicillin for duck. |

It was found that a single intramuscular administration of chloramphenicol and sulfamonomethoxine at concentrations of 50 and 200 milligrams per kilogram of fish body weight, would respectively give very good suppression effect on multiplication of the bacteria. The number of bacteria in blood circulation dropped rapidly when compared between drugs and non-drugs administered groups of fish starting at 1 hour and remained in relative low number for twelve hours after drugs administration. Results from the same experiments also indicated that there was a better effect of sulfamonomethoxine than chloramphenicol on the bacterial growth inhibition. Chloramphenicol and sulfamonomethoxine were both less effective on bacterial growth inhibition when they were given orally using the same doses with the intramuscular route. The better effect, however, would be attained when the second does was given at eight hours after the first administration. Results obtained from oral administration of furazolidone and doxycycline at concentrations of 10 and 40 milligrams per fish body weight respectively indicated the fairly good suppression effect on growth of bacteria though it took longer lag period and shorter inhibiting duration than those of sulfamonomethoxine and chloramphenicol. |
